The Correlation Between Epidemics and Sunspot Peaks

Abstract:

It is thought that the solar cycle is involved with dangerous epidemics. An epidemic is an extensive outbreak of an infectious disease at a specific time, such as SARS or H1N1. To add on, there is a current pandemic occurring now, COVID-19 along with solar cycle 25. Solar cycles are eleven year periods of varied amounts of sunspots on the sun’s surface. The solar cycle consists of a solar maximum, with higher amounts of sunspots, and a solar minimum and throughout this cycle, the magnetic fields flip. Solar cycles can cause detrimental disruptions from emitted radiation, which could eventually reach and leak into our atmosphere. Scientists predict that solar cycles have an influence on epidemic initiation where the radiation from solar activity causes mutations in DNA. This creates an antigenic drift necessary to start a wide-spread epidemic. The solar winds from sunspots mixed with electric fields are able to transport rapidly charged virus particles through our atmosphere. This research aims to narrow down information to determine if the occurrence of epidemics are really affected by solar activity. Overall, there seems to be a strong connection between epidemics and sunspots due to the mutations caused by excess radiation, similar dates of occurrence, the help of electromagnetic fields, among other things.
